Student Success Story- Ryan Gallagher

Ryan Gallagher (on the right) recently graduated with his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2022 and is working for Milwaukee Electric Tool as a Design Engineer.

What work are you currently doing? I work in New Product Development in the Carpentry and Nailers group. I work on the design of a tool as the lead mechanical engineer on the team. The design ranges from the mechanism inside of the tool to implementing ergonomics that will benefit users.

What’s great about your company? The culture is great. It’s a work hard play hard community that is very similar to that of MSOE, but with some more fun. You’re surrounded by many like0minded people that are all working towards a common goal. It’s been a great opportunity to grow as an engineer and learn more about the industry. Milwaukee Electric Tool really cares about your growth as an engineer and provides many opportunities for training to fill in any gaps in our knowledge base.

Did the Career Connections Center help you with your job search? I found my initial internship with Milwaukee Electric Tool at the Career Fair. The Career Connections Center also helped me with career fair prep and salary negotiation to first get my internship, and then also when I received my fulltime offer from the company at the end of the summer in 2022.
