Student Success Story- Sean Ryman

Sean Ryman is a Senior Computer Engineering major and was hired by HED as an Engineering Intern for the summer of 2022 and will return full-time after graduation.

What did you work on this summer?
I worked with another intern to create a pixel quality test for LCD display modules produced by HED. Our project attempted to make use of a Raspberry Pi and AI, which was a fun combination to work with.

What’s the best thing about your job?
At HED, we were given lots of freedom to explore different solutions to the problems we were solving, and I learned a lot of new things in my internship that I didn’t learn in the classroom.

What’s great about your company?
HED is a relatively small company, but the people working there are incredibly smart and talented. They are also always willing to help and give you the time you need in order to learn and succeed.

How did you find your internship opportunity?
I found my internship through Handshake, and by attending the Fall 2022 Career Fair.

How did the Career Connections Center help you with your internship search?
When I attended the Career Connections Center Resume Raid, I met a recruiter from HED, and she was the first person to inform me about HED. After the event, I worked with the Career Connections Center, and they helped me to reach out to the recruiter in a professional manner expressing my interest in the company. This initial connection led me to getting the internship!

I am excited to say that I have a job lined up with HED and will be planning to work for them after I graduate in May! I am really looking forward to joining the HED team.
