Student Success Story- Ross Janis

Ross Janis is a Junior Electrical Engineering major and was hired by Hydrite as an Engineering Co-op for the Summer/Fall of 2024.

What did you work on this summer? So far during my co-op, I have had a chance to work on several projects at Hydrite such as creating and modifying AutoCAD drawings to depict process changes, converting Ladder logic into common terms to allow process engineers to verify contractors work, formatting Excel documents to work with a historian service for motors and instruments, and creating network topologies diagrams for our operational technology network.

What’s the best thing about your job?  The best thing about my job is the communication and leadership. Both my peers and bosses are very approachable and respectful. I have also enjoyed the wide range of projects I’ve gotten to work on so far – there’s been a few main projects sprinkled with side quests.

What’s great about your company?  What’s great about Hydrite is their morals and values,. They don’t cut corners and their community outreach programs are bettering our neighborhoods.

How did you find your internship opportunity?  I found my co-op at the MSOE Career Fair.

How did the Career Connections Center help you with your internship search? The Career Connections Center helped me by hosting the Career Fair, which is how I learned about Hydrite
