Ariel Griffin is a Senior Operations and Systems Management major and was hired by Generac as a Supply Chain Intern for the Summer of 2024.
What did you work on this summer? As a Supply Chain Intern on the Corporate Demand Planning team, I am responsible for forecasting woodchippers and water pumps. I analyze sales data to evaluate forecast accuracy, and once finalized, these predictions are communicated to Supply Planning.
What’s the best thing about your job? I enjoy being part of an innovative and supportive team that empowers me to expand my knowledge and apply what I’ve learned. The work is fascinating, as it allows me to use creative problem-solving strategies to tackle real business challenges. This environment fosters continuous learning and growth, making each day exciting and rewarding. As a result, I feel motivated and inspired to contribute to the team’s success.
What’s great about your company? As an intern at Generac, I have had the incredible opportunity to manage various projects in addition to my regular duties. This has been the most fulfilling part of my internship, as it has helped me develop skills in communication, project management, and adaptability. Moreover, it has allowed me to embrace new challenges and grow both personally and professionally. Additionally, I enjoyed the opportunity to attend numerous company events. Whether through business resource groups, intern challenges, department gatherings, or company-wide events, Generac always encouraged interns to get involved. Through these experiences, I have networked with many individuals across the organization and gained valuable insights into various aspects of the business.
How did you find your internship opportunity? I found my internship via the Career Fair.
How did the Career Connections Center help you with your internship search? The Career Connections Center helped me in many ways. Through the Resume Raid, I still have a networked connection with the representative who helped me. I used the Career Closet to obtain a full professional outfit. The CCC website helped me with negotiation pages and post-interview thank you letters, and I met with the CCC to enhance my resume.
