Ameed is a Senior Mechanical Engineering major, minoring in Management. He was hired by Milwaukee Tool as a Quality & Reliability Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2025.
What did you work on this summer? I’ve had the opportunity to support the engineering team at Milwaukee Tool through a variety of projects spanning different phases of the new product development cycle, from defining product targets to gathering user feedback. One of my main responsibilities was improving the consistency of product testing internationally. I worked to ensure the credibility and reliability of testing data, which is essential for guiding engineering decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
What’s the best thing about your job? Within Quality and Reliability there is such a wide variety of projects that aren’t typically expected in a Q&R role, so I never know what to expect. I’ve been able to learn so many different skills and have faced a lot of challenges I would’ve never otherwise encountered. Through these projects I’ve gotten to take initiative and make impactful decisions that have real effects on the business. Additionally, Quality & Reliability works cross-functionally with so many different parts of the business and with that I’m able to see the company through a really wide lens.
What’s great about your company? What sets Milwaukee Tool apart is the people and the culture, it’s a huge reason as to why I chose to return for a second internship after last summer. The team around me has been incredibly supportive, not only by being extremely welcoming but also being genuinely invested in my growth. They’ve helped me become a better engineer in so many ways, from data collection and analysis to technical presenting. It’s been a challenging and rewarding experience thanks to the people around me.
