Theophanes is a Senior Computer Science major who worked at Associated Bank as a Corporate Intern- Artificial Intelligence in the summer of 2025.
What did you work on this summer? As an AI Corporate Intern at Associated Bank, I’ve been helping with the AI Academy initiative developed in collaboration with Milkyway Tech Hub and the Boys & Girls Club. I worked on developing the economic structure around the program, with a focus on long-term scalability and impact. To support this, I automated data-gathering processes to analyze course outcomes—highlighting key insights and potential growth if the program were expanded.
I also had the opportunity to assist in teaching, introducing students to foundational concepts in data science—such as the use of figures—and exploring how these ideas connect to Artificial Intelligence. Guiding those conversations was one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.
Outside of the classroom, I am working on a research project focused on wealth management strategies for Gen Z and mass affluent Millennials, which we will present to senior stakeholders at Associated Bank. On the digital front, I helped enhance the AI Innovation Hub website by refining existing pages and creating new content to improve user experience and engagement.
This internship has allowed me to blend technical expertise with communication and presentation skills, while deepening my understanding of the banking and finance landscape.
What’s the best thing about your job? What I enjoy most is the opportunity to connect with the incredible people across the organization. Every visit to the office or teams call turns into an engaging learning experience. With so many branches and areas of expertise, every conversation I learn more about the company. People take time to teach, share insights, and make sure interns feel both supported and challenged. That sense of openness has been the foundation of some of my favorite moments at Associated Bank.
What’s great about your company? Associated Bank offers more than just financial services, cultivating a culture rooted in inclusion and personal growth. As an intern, I’ve had the opportunity to witness firsthand how the company values authenticity and innovation across all levels. Everyone is encouraged to express themselves fully, and ideas are met with curiosity rather than hierarchy.
How did you find your internship opportunity? I found my internship at the Career Fair.
How did the Career Connections Center help you with your internship search? The Career Closet provided me with professional outfits to wear to interviews and in office.
