Kyra is a Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering major who worked at Hydrite Chemical Company as a Technical Service and Development Intern in the summer of 2025.
What did you work on this summer? Over summer I got to work testing the performance of a specific product at Hydrite. I had to learn how to use new equipment to test how the cleaning rate of a new product compared to the old product in cleaning a Calcium Carbonate build up off of the inside of an irrigation system.
What’s the best thing about your job? I loved the hands of work aspect of my job. This helped me to grow quickly and have a deeper understanding of what exactly it was that I was doing. The ability to fail and improve upon experimental design was also a very nice skill to learn.
What’s great about your company? Hydrite has so many things that I love about them. The main two are the volunteering culture and the safety culture. Both of these shows how Hydrite really takes care to know and understand exactly what brings fulfillment to the team while also keeping us all safe.
How did you find your internship opportunity? I found my internship at the MSOE Career Fair.
How did the Career Connections Center help you with your internship search? The Career Connections Center helped with the career fair prep, resume building, interview skills, and offer negotiation.
