Summary of Position:
Successful candidates will be responsible for the strategic project management of new and existing products including product design and development. Responsible for product, tooling, process development, and the flawless launch of new products/processes to production.
Key Tasks:
- Perform project management duties utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) guidelines
- Product design and development
- Create and perform design of experiments (DOE)
- Generate product improvements and/or cost reductions
- Prepare cost calculations including feasibility reviews
- Develop and work with vendors to support project needs (tooling, gages, materials, testing, equipment)
- Lead design review process for new injection mold tooling
- Provide technical support to sales / customers
Necessary Qualifications:
- 4 year engineering degree or minimum 5 years mechanical design or related experience
- Ability to read and interpret product, tool, customer, and machine prints
- Knowledge of GD&T and the automotive approval process
- Proficient with Solidworks
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Plastics or stamping industry experience
- Experience with either over molding or insert molding and stampings
