Join us in shaping the future of the electrical power grid. At Dynamic Ratings, you’ll help create hardware and software systems that deliver critical condition data on high-voltage equipment—empowering utility engineers to maintain reliability, reduce costs, and increase capacity.

Intern Responsibilities
We are hiring multiple interns to join our Development Engineering group. Each intern will be placed in one of the following specialized teams:

Embedded Platform Team

  • Develop hardware, firmware, and low-level Linux components.
  • Ideal for students with knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and basic hardware interfaces. Projects may include hardware design (e.g. Altium), firmware programming (C) or embedded Linux development (C, C++).

Business Logic / Application Programming Team

  • Build application-level software in an embedded Linux environment that takes real world inputs and turns them into powerful insights for our customers.
  • Best suited for those with experience in C/C++ and Linux-based development.

Web Application Programming Team

  • Create and enhance web-based tools for internal and external users.
  • Projects could cover work performed in JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C# and modern web frameworks (e.g., Vue, React, Angular).

Software Testing (QA Test Group)

  • Test embedded and web-based software products.
  • Ideal for candidates with attention to detail and familiarity with software testing principles and tools.

Intern Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Coursework or experience in Relevant Programming Languages / Skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new programming languages or tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be available to work onsite in Sussex, WI (relocation not available)
