The Clean Energy Solutions Specialist is responsible for engaging in consultative conversations with potential customers who have inquired about Generac’s backup power products. Provides support by answering questions, addressing concerns, overcoming objections, and encouraging customers to schedule appointments as appropriate.
Major Responsibilities
Inbound Customer Engagement
- Respond to inbound pre-sale inquiries via phone, email, and web chat related to Clean Energy, Honeywell, GRID, and Generac products.
- Provide accurate, detailed product information to help customers make informed decisions.
Customer Education
- Educate consumers on the value and benefits of working with an authorized Generac sales dealer for in-home consultations.
- Address customer questions and objections using solution-based selling techniques.
Outbound Customer Engagement
- Conduct outbound calls to confirm program participation and follow up with interested customers.
- Gather additional customer information and connect qualified leads with authorized dealers.
- Re-engage past prospects and nurture ongoing relationships through proactive phone and email outreach.
Sales Cycle Management
- Manage sales leads throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial inquiry to dealer handoff.
- Re-initiate the sales process with customers who completed a home assessment but did not proceed with a purchase.
- Identify reasons for customer hesitation and address concerns using product knowledge and dealer value propositions.
Sales Performance
- Achieve outbound sales targets through effective lead management and follow-up strategies.
- Consistently work toward individual and team performance goals.
Dealer Coordination
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Generac sales dealers.
- Provide ongoing sales support, customer information, and coordination to help facilitate successful purchasing decisions.
Departmental Standards
- Maintain department performance expectations related to customer satisfaction, productivity, quality, and policy compliance.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Associate degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
Work Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a sales, retail, and/or marketing role.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of clean energy solutions or the ability to learn technical product information quickly.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze information and make recommendations.
- Proven experience in a consultative or solutions-based sales environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including consumers, dealers, and contractors.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
