Accounting Specialist
The primary purpose of this entry level position will be to support the entire Finance department and will be responsible for a multitude of tasks including but not limited to daily bank transaction reporting, fraud prevention, cash reconciliations, month end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, T&E program related questions as well as process improvement projects. Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide daily cash position and bank account reconciliation
- Process and post daily incoming cash and apply to correct GL accounts
- Serve as primary contact to address banking issues requiring same day action (problems with user access, payments, reporting)
- Assist with recurring reporting responsibilities (compliance, disclosure questionnaires, user audits, bank account audits)
- Manage the system administration responsibilities, documentation, and procedures for online bank portals. This involves managing system access for end users of Corporate bank accounts and establishing user entitlements in accordance with corporate policy
- Manage all administrative correspondence relating to bank and T&E accounts
- Review and prepare all prepaid expense entries and amortization journal entries
- Review and maintain all documentation, reconciliation and procedures surrounding prepaid inventory
- Prepare payment documentation for corporate donation payments
- Perform monthly financial close duties including assigned, system maintenance, journal entries, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Comply and adhere to the organization’s overall financial policies.
- Perform other duties at manager’s request
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Work,Outlook required.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write and speak English.
- Adept at troubleshooting, ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Must be able to maintain relationships and function as a team player
