Materials Engineering Intern

Our Engineering Team is responsible for creating innovative solutions that address the unmet needs of our customers. We do this through increasing our users’ productivity by integrating new technologies and methodologies to deliver new-to-world products and product enhancements. We work together with our users through observation, interviews, and field research, making them part of the solution process. Our team defines critical benefits to our end users, constructs prototypes, and evaluates product designs considering unmet user needs, durability, materials, and manufacturing processes. Working cross functionally, we perform a wide variety of engineering and design tasks including translating user observations to insights, employing proven ideation techniques, 3D modeling and mathematical simulation, and rapid prototype development.

The TOOLS you’ll need to have:
Perform general materials analysis including metallurgical sample preparation, microstructural analysis, hardness testing, failure analysis, etc.
Conduct and design experiments associated with the processing of materials and optimizing material properties.
Lead your own materials related projects and report on your progress at the end of your internship.
Collaborate with a variety of engineering teams, technicians, outside suppliers and more.
What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:
Working towards a B.S. in Materials Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or similar discipline
Experience with or willingness to quickly learn the operation of standard materials lab equipment (sample preparation equipment, microscopes, hardness testing equipment, etc.)
Extremely driven individual ready to lead their own projects, establish a schedule, and drive execution on their projects and assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively.
