Bevco Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support documentation creation, pilot builds, data collection, and continuous improvement activities. This role offers valuable exposure to real-world engineering workflows while contributing directly to production success.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Review & Interpretation
- Assist in reviewing customer drawings, prints, and engineering documentation.
- Help identify critical-to-quality (CTQ) features and translate requirements into manufacturing tasks.
- Support engineering staff in evaluating manufacturability concerns.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Support the NPI team in verifying bill of materials (BOM) accuracy and preparing documentation for pilot builds.
- Work with assembly technicians during pilot builds to observe and document process steps.
- Assist in creating work instructions, checklists, and process documentation.
Project Coordination & Documentation
- Help maintain project timelines and update status tracking as needed.
- Assist in coordinating materials, tools, and resources for engineering builds and trials.
- Document process findings, improvement opportunities, and test results.
Shop Floor & Customer Support
- Provide floor support during build validations and trials.
- Assist with data collection related to production efficiency, quality, and cycle times.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities under engineer guidance.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Exposure to engineering drawings, basic manufacturing concepts, or hands-on technical coursework preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Interest in manufacturing processes, engineering documentation, and continuous improvement.
Working Style
- Curious, motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to ask questions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and shop floor teams.
