Student Success Story- Muhammad Alliyu

Muhammad Alliyu is a Sophomore Software Engineering major and was hired by Cognex Corporation as a Software Engineering intern for the summer of 2023.

What did you work on this summer?

As a Software Engineering intern at Cognex I collaborated with seasoned engineers to refine and elevate computer vision algorithms, resulting in improved accuracy and performance. I also supported software development, including testing, and debugging for diverse computer vision applications. I also got to actively participate in pioneering research initiatives and delved into state-of-the-art methodologies and technologies within the realm of computer vision.

What was the best thing about your job?

Every task that I did was unique and challenging in its own way. I loved that I was always working outside my comfort zone and thereby learned a lot while providing value to the company.

What’s great about your company?

The people. I was privileged to work alongside amazing people who trusted my skills and weren’t afraid to let me take on challenging tasks and were always ready to help with any problems I encounter. The company’s motto of ‘Work Hard, Play Hard’ sums it all up. This helped create a really great experience for me.

I found this internship at the Career Fair.

The Career Connections Center helped me with my resume, my LinkedIn profile and helped me to prepare for interviews with the company.
