Student Success Story- Zachary Pflanzer

Zachary Pflanzer is a Sophomore Mechanical Engineering major and was hired by Precision Plus as a Manufacturing Engineering intern for the summer of 2023.

What did you work on this summer?

This summer I worked on several projects with guidance from other engineers that improve processes on the shop floor. Most of these projects involved designing mechanical systems that improve safety, efficiency, and reliability of preexisting processes.

What was the best thing about your job?

I got to work with brilliant people that have exposed me to a lot of amazing technology and new experiences that have helped me build my skillset. At Precision Plus they gave me creative freedom and let me solve problems on my own but were still available when I needed guidance.

What’s great about your company?

Precision Plus is a very driven company that strives to supply parts of the highest quality for their customers. To achieve this, they commit themselves to a process of continuous improvement that results in an amazing and innovative work environment.

How did you find your internship opportunity?

I found this internship at the Career Fair.

How did the Career Connections Center help you with your internship search?

I attended a Career Fair preparation event that really helped me with getting ready and feeling prepared for the Career Fair.
