Student Success Story- Ryan Giese

Ryan Giese is a Senior Biomolecular Engineering major and was hired by Hydrite Chemical Company as an Engineering Co-op.

What have you been working on? 

I am working on a number of projects related to improving plant operations, plant safety, and cost savings.

What’s the best thing about your job? 

I really enjoy the variety of work at that I do at Hydrite. All of my projects are different, and I have learned and continue to learn a lot of new things as I do them. I also really enjoy the conversations I have with my mentors here at Hydrite. I am learning a lot about the various parts of the industry from my mentors as well as the people I work with when I complete a project.

What’s great about your company?

Hydrite as a company is well diversified and does well to keep expanding into new markets as well as improving how it serves its current markets. It does well to give back to the community through various charities and also by providing opportunities to young people like me to gain experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.

How did you find your internship opportunity?

I was recommended to apply for this opportunity by someone.

How did the Career Connections Center help you with your internship search? 

The Career Connections Center helped me to make sure that my offer from Hydrite was fair and that all things related to MSOE were taken care of so I could take the time to complete this Co-op.
